Travel to Merida
When visiting Merida, you will immediately see that it is a city of contrasts. Several different cultures, from Mayan to Dutch, have helped to influence the city over the years. The city museum, the railroad museum, and the Palacio Canto are good options to consider too. Take a walk along the El Paseo Montejo to see beautiful mansions, having some ice cream, and enjoy the fresh tamales.
On Sunday evenings, the city closes down the streets which lead to the Plaza Grande, creating a wonderful time to be social. Live music plays, people get dressed in their best, and there is plenty of dancing and merriment. Merida offers you plenty of opportunities to relax in a way that suits you best.
