What to see in Toulouse, France ?
The city has a rich history as far back as far as the eighth century BC. The city of Toulouse is located right along the banks of the River Garonne about 300 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean and 150 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea.

About Toulouse

The city of Toulouse is called the “ville rose” because of the red brick and white stone buildings all over the city that give it a pinkish glow. The old town between the Place du Capitole and the Rue de Metz is dotted with small museums, churches, street cafes, smart shops, hotels and restaurants. South of Rue de Metz is Carmes, with a more relaxed, local feel. Over the bridges, on the left bank, Saint-Cyprien is more culturally diverse. The east bank of the Garonne is a perfect place to watch the sun set over the “ville rose.”

Other local attractions include the sixteenth century Pont-Neuf bridge, the Capitole (known as the town hall), the historic mansion of Hotel d’Assezat, and the exquisite eleventh century Basilica of Saint Sernin. North west of the city are the airport and the Airbus factory . As a result, the airport is one of the largest in France and has numerous flights flying in and out on a daily basis, due to the including flights from Bremen to Toulouse.

The city is well-known for its influence in the aerospace industry and is home to several major companies in the field, including Aerospace Valley, Galileo Positioning System, and the SPOT satellite. The Cite de l’Espace is a local science museum that highlights the city’s research in this field.
