What to see and do in Nadi ?

Spend your Fijian holiday under water scuba diving and snorkelling in the cerulean sea or hiking around Nadi in the delightful tropical weather. Head to Denarau Island for tennis and a round of golf, or schedule a diving trip or cruise around the smaller islands.

Nadi Town, originally established in 1947, is one of the most visited places on the main Fijian island. With an average temperature of 25C year round, Nadi is truly a tropical holiday destination. Spend your days under water scuba diving and snorkelling in the aquamarine sea or hiking around Nadi. Many tourists use Nadi as a stopover on their way to and from more iconic Fijian islands, with catamaran transfers leaving from Denarau Island regularly.

Denarau Island is the prime location for a multitude of fantastic resorts and spas. It is not technically an island, however, and in fact easily accessible from the main town via roads. The resorts here are phenomenal beachfront properties within walking distance to the luxurious Denarau Golf Club in the centre of the ‘island’.

Take a trip down by the marina to check out day island cruises, scuba diving adventures, and other water sports off the Fijian coast. The Port of Denarau on the eastern side serves Malolo Island, with regular ferries from Nadi and Captain Cook Cruises.

Take a half day tour into the heart of Nadi region up to Vuda Lookout. On the way through Sabeto Valley, stop at the Gardens of the Sleeping Giant, known for its incredible Fijian orchid collection. At the vantage point, take in the breathtaking panoramic scenery. Don’t forget your camera, as you will want photos of Nadi Bay, the mountain ranges, and the beautiful Yasawa Group islands.

Nadi offers an array of cuisines and eateries for all budgets and tastes, especially around Main Street. Like the rest of the main island, Nadi has a majority of Fijian, Indian, and Chinese eateries to go along with its multicultural atmosphere. Enhance your palette with local dishes and international favourites, though there are western foods for picky eaters.

Get away from the busy town with a tranquil visit to the Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple, conveniently located off Main Street. It is the largest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere, and its dazzling location set against the bold mountains make for an ideal photo opportunity.
