What to see and do in Treasure Island ?

With a host of motorised and non-motorised water-based activities there’s many ways to interact with your island locale. Explore the islands marine reserve with snorkelling, scuba diving or in a glass-bottom boat. As a larger resort, Treasure Island has many established classes, as the perfect way to take a piece of the island home with you; whether a self-woven basket or a Fijian fish marinade.

For pure relaxation, Treasure Island Resort boasts a three-pool swimming complex. The largest is the horizon edge pool with in-water lounging areas. A blissful sense of space is yours, with nothing but water between you and the horizon. For the kids, there’s a smaller pool suitable for infants and toddlers. For couples, a pool set beneath the main area creates a lovely secluded space.

After swimming, ease into the evening with a candlelight beachfront dinner. More lively activities will evolve into the night with a dancefloor and nightly entertainment. Entertainment includes live band performances, cultural shows, competitions and movies.

For a more active day, head out into the water with complimentary snorkelling, coral viewing in a glass-bottom boat and fish feeding. For an extra charge, a range of adventurous water activities are available. Non-motorised activities include wind surfing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and paddle boarding, and of course scuba diving. The dive centre runs day and night departures, reef and wreck dives and offer a program tailored for beginners. Motorised activities include parasailing, jet skiing, water skiing, knee boarding and giant tobogganing.

The island hires a fully-qualified environmental officer to direct the sustainability of the Islands natural environment. Part of the officer’s role is to find opportunities for memorable hands-on experiences with local wildlife. The reputable Kids’ Club gives kids the chance to feed the hibiscus flowers and the crested iguanas. While the turtle breeding program sees hatchlings fed and monitored, and when they’re strong enough the Hawksbill turtles are tagged and released into the Pacific Ocean. Simply being on the resort will put you in contact with tropical wildlife. The endangered flightless banded rail has been living the life on Treasure Island since the late 90s. The birds have become accustomed to human company and will often hop into your bure to greet you.
