Couples and families who love to check out the nearest galleries should stop by some of Pittsburgh’s finest exhibition areas. The Mattress Factory is one of the most well-known art exhibit museums in the city and contains room-sized works of art. Additionally for all the comic lovers out there the Toonseum is must see attraction. Another museum in the area includes the Heinz History Center, which though is not an art museum, is an affiliate of the Smithsonian and allows visitors to learn about the rich history of the nation.

For more historical sights tour the Fort Pitt Museum, which is actually handled by the Heinz History Center, and is fun for everyone who is interested in seeing what past forts looked like.

Guests with kids who are not so interested in the art scene can head over to the Pittsburgh Zoo and the PPG Aquarium to watch the livelihoods of the animals that live there. The National Aviary is also a great stop for guests who love to see the beauty of birds in their midst. For the kids’ own version of a museum, head over to the exhibits in the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh; guaranteed to be a good time. For kids that love a constant stream of activity, head over to the Sandcastle Waterpark or if they can skate at all, to Mr. Smalls Skate Park.

At night there are a great deal of bars to keep visitors occupied and one of those is an exceptional brewpub that can be found in a restored Roman Catholic Church called Church Brew Works. Guests that feel a little like gambling but do not want to head over to Atlantic City can play their cards at the Rivers Casino. Guests that want a little relaxation can take in a theatrical performance or a concert at the Benedum Center or at the Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts. Listeners of contemporary music can head over to Stage AE, which is an entertainment arena on the North Shore that hosts many concerts.

Pittsburgh is also possesses amazing views. When you are at ground level, spy the Cathedral of Learning, which is a landmark of the University of Pittsburgh and be inspired to never stop learning new things. When you are trying to get a bird’s eye view of the city, Mount Washington’s hill is great as is the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.
