Travel to Colombia
Colombia is one of those countries that offers visitors a challenge. On one hand, there aren’t the same tourist attractions here that you can find in neighboring countries. Without a 5-star attraction, you’ll discover that Colombia does offer 5-star hospitality.
There is a certain colonial charm to this country that has been preserved to an extraordinary extent. A walk through the old city of Cartagena is enough to let the cobblestones speak of past civilizations that have called this area home. When combined with the outdoor adventures that are readily available, there is an iconic itinerary that is waiting to be planned today.
If you enjoy a good trekking adventure, then one of the tallest peaks of the Andes Mountains is accessible in Colombia. There are numerous ascents available in Natural El Cocuy National Park, while those who love history can walk amongst Tayrona ruins while enjoying what the jungle has to offer. Scuba diving, whale watching, and water sports are also available to enjoy.
Mysteries can also be found in Colombia. Take San Agustin, for example, where there are more than 500 life-sized ancient statutes that have been meticulously sculpted. Or the ancient city of Ciudad Perdida, which requires a 6-day, 44 kilometer walk, but takes you to hundreds of carved terraces that could have been the home to as many as 8,000 people.
One thing is for certain: Colombia is a land that offers diverse landscapes. Whether you wish to sit by a mountain lake or on a beach drenched in golden light, you’ll find the answer you’ve been seeking here.
