Travel to Grenada
You’ll find Grenada just off the coast of South America, consisting of 7 islands that make up the end of the Grenadines chain of islands. For many years, mace and nutmeg crops helped to create the foundation of industry for the country, which earned Grenada the nickname of the “Island of Spice.”
Because beach and marine sports tourism are key components of the island’s economy, you’ll find numerous well-developed opportunities are awaiting your stay. Make your way to St. George, the capital of the country, and you’ll be able to enjoy the vast expanses of Grand Anse Beach. Point Salines and Lance Aux offer idyllic beaches to enjoy as well.
You can’t miss the waterfalls during your stay in Grenada. The nearest waterfalls for those who stay in St. George are Annandale Falls, which offers a 30-foot drop and a grotto of lush forest to explore. The pool underneath the falls is deep enough for a swim as well. Additional falls to find include Tufton Hall, Concorn, and the 7 Sisters.
There are several cultural locations to explore in Grenada as well. Try Crayfish Bay Organic Farm for a unique eco-tourism opportunity. This estate is more than two centuries old and features artifacts that date to the 17th century, allowing visitors to see what life was like when things were “back to the basics.”
You’ll also find sailing festivals to be frequent throughout the Summer months. No matter what your preference may be, Grenada offers a plan that can help you relax and have some fun. Make your way here and you may just discover that the world can keep going without you while you enjoy a much-needed holiday.
