Travel to Koprivshtitsa
Koprivshtitsa is a historic town lying on the Topolnitsa River among the Sredna Gora mountains about 110 kilometers from Sofia.
Koprivshtitsa is a very popular tourist destination, specially know for the folk music festivalsand the authentic Bulgarian architecture and for its folk music festivals, making it a very popular tourist destination. Historically the town is known for being one of the centers of the April Uprising in 1876.
In fact, the whole settlement is a protected national monument, supposed to reflect and define the achievements of the Bulgarian National Revival movement in its wealth of painted facades, stone sculptures and shuttered homes.
Due to the historic facts there is a lot of museums related to the April Uprising in the town:

- the Memorial Ossuary of 20 April housing the bones of those who died in the April Uprising (1926)
- the bridge where the first shot of the uprising was fired in 1878, Kalachev most (1813)
