Travel to Uganda
The Republic of Uganda is one of the largest landlocked countries in the world in terms of population. It’s primary natural feature is Lake Victoria, which dominates the southern portion of the country. Uganda is also part of the Nile basin, so the climate is often warm and somewhat humid all year long.
Visiting Uganda means enjoying the natural landscapes and wildlife that can be found in the Great Lakes region of Africa. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to more than half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas, while Kidepo Valley National Park is remote and barely receives 5,000 visitors annually to see Mount Morungole. Murchison Falls National Park offers a glimpse of one of the landmark waterfalls in the region.
This means adventure tourism, ecotourism, and many cultural interactive opportunities await with a visit to Uganda. You will find guided tours available to see the game parks and reserves, traditional sites within the country, and the tropical forests of this equatorial country. Visiting the Kazinga Channel is just one example of this, where you can ride on a boat, take part in a safari, and get up close and personal with a local hippopotamus.
And a trip to Lake Victoria should always be on the itinerary. Hiking and mountain climbing opportunities are everywhere. From sport fishing to bird watching and everything in-between, Uganda offers all visitors something unique and special to experience. It is one of the best places to experience the Nile basin in all of its wonder and glory.
