Travel to Nigeria
Nigeria has always been a challenging nation to visit. It’s the most populous country on the African continent, but there are also numerous cultures in place that always seem to be clashing with one another. Most visitors to Nigeria will require a visa for entry.
Once you can conquer the challenges, you’ll find numerous opportunities await you. There are numerous beaches to enjoy, rainforests to explore along the outskirts of Lekki, and numerous mountain escapes and resorts to enjoy. One of the longest cable cars in the world is located in Obudu, which gives you access to swimming pools, forest walks, and interesting fountains to enjoy.
Although English is the official language of Nigeria, there are more than 500 different languages spoken.
The tourism culture of Nigeria is fairly well-developed, but many vendors, restaurants, and hotels will only accept transactions in Naira, the local currency. Plan to withdraw money at a local ATM when visiting to make sure you can complete a transaction. Airports and vendors near the larger hotels may also allow you to purchase local currency with foreign currencies.
One of the unique aspects of life in Nigeria is that virtually all transactions are considered to be negotiable. The only exception to this is bread, which has a fixed price.
Nigeria is one of the most authentic nations to visit in all of Africa. It may have its challenges, but the rewards are great. Take the time to plan your stay well in advance and it will be a fantastic experience.
