Travel to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Located in the Lesser Antilles arc of islands, just north of South America, you’ll find the nation of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It is just south of Saint Lucia and west of Barbados. It shares a colonial history with Britain and France and offers several small islands to explore. The main island, Saint Vincent, has most of the resort opportunities that you’ll find in this country. One great way to enjoy the island, however, is to book a guest house or even an apartment in Kingstown. The culture is colorful and expressive, which can sometimes be missed in a resort setting.

If you stay in the resort full-time, you’ll also miss out on the roadside barbecues that are almost everywhere. Chicken and pork tend to be the primary proteins being grilled, but some may take special requests. On Friday and Saturday nights, the smells waft through the breeze and make you feel permanently hungry. There are several adventures awaiting you as well. You can visit the Arawak rock carvings or hike up to enjoy the stunning views that are offered at Fort Duvernette. Take a stroll along the Vermont Nature Trail or wander through the local botanical garden. Fort Charlotte offers some great views as well.

If you plan for a trip in July, then you can participate in country’s Carnival celebration. Called Vincy Mas, expect plenty of music and easy access to your favorite cocktail or beer. You can come to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to enjoy a relaxing resort holiday with planned activities and guided tours. You can also plan your own adventure. You’ll find that there is a little something for everyone here.
