Travel to Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos are a group of islands that are in the Atlantic Ocean, but provide a “border” for the Caribbean Sea.  About 40 islands in total comprise the archipelago, which is located to the west of The Bahamas and north of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Relaxation is on the agenda when visiting this British Overseas Territory. You’ll find a barrier reef more than 20km long to explore through snorkeling and diving. Divers will especially enjoy the underwater wall, located off Grand Turk Island, that is more than 2,100m of adventure to explore.

Luxury resorts provide clean, groomed beaches that will bring you want you need to relax. Restaurants and shops can cater to whatever your wants may be. The islands are a stunning hotspot for biodiversity. Hiking and exploration opportunities are abundant. You can rent a bicycle to explore the islands during a warm, sunny day. Or, if you prefer, the emerald waters and white sand beaches invite you to find some comfortable, grab some shade, and enjoy paradise.

While visiting Turks and Caicos, be sure to spend some time at one of the many music or cultural festivals. Ripsaw music is a major part of the culture here and you’ll find many opportunities to dance and relax. Traditional crafts are practiced on the islands as well, including straw hats and baskets being woven by hand. This beautiful archipelago is a wonderful way to enjoy a holiday of relaxation and exploration. With small museums, large beaches, and plenty of water activities available, it is an experience everyone should enjoy at least once.

No one would blame you for spending your vacation relaxing on the beach, enjoying the sun, sand, and surf. These beaches are ranked as some of the best in the world. Hit the highlights and enjoy the world famous Grace Beach on Providenciales. Don’t miss Malcolm Beach, also on Providenciales, or Long Bay, where the gentle surf and horseback rides are perfect for children.

Pine Cay and Parrot Cay offer picture-perfect views. This is the best of the Caribbean with pristine turquoise seas and white sand. Both are private islands, cater to celebrities, and are truly exceptional. Charter a boat and find your way to Sandy Point or the Whitby Beaches, on North Caicos, where there is exceptional snorkeling. On Grand Turk, you won’t want to miss the Governor’s Beach.

Once you’ve had your fill of relaxing under the sun, enjoy one of the many water activities, such as fishing, boating, sailing, parasailing, or even paddle boarding or kayaking. This is a top destination for divers or those who want to snorkel. Protected reefs provided excellent opportunities to view spectacular aquatic life. The islands work hard to preserve their natural treasures and you can go bird watching or enjoy nature in a clear-bottomed boat on an eco-safari. If you’re there from January to early April, you might even spot a humpbacked whale or catch a glimpse of local celebrity, JoJo the Dolphin.
