Travel to Paraguay
Landlocked in South America, the Republic of Paraguay is often called the “heart” of the continent. Settled in the 16th century by the Spanish, the country has been independent since 1811, but maintained the mixture of local and Spanish cultural influences. Nearly one-third of the country’s population lives in Asuncion, which serves as the nation’s capital.
Because of that centrality, many holidays to Paraguay involve a stay within Asuncion. In the city, you’ll find an historic center that offers glimpses of the past splendors of the city. Grand buildings stand tall and proud, illuminated at night, telling of the stories of old. Several restaurants and bars are located within the historic center as well.
The parks of Paraguay are often filled to the brim on a beautiful day. Try Nu Guazu, the largest park in Asuncion, on your first days in the country. You’ll find ponds to explore and many games being played. You may even be invited to join in on the fun.
There are safari and nature expeditions that can be planned for your stay as well. Cerro Cora National Park is quite popular, with several historical monuments and a museum that complements a recreational area near the Aquidaban River. You’ll find ancient rock writings along the hill caves of the park as well.
Or try San Rafael National Park, a proposed area of grasslands and wetlands that allows you to feel what life is like here. Nacunday and Ypoa offer exploration opportunities as well.
Paraguay is a land where magic can happen every day. Plan your next holiday here and then be prepared to have one of the best experiences of your life.
