Travel to South Korea

The Republic of Korea, better known as South Korea, is a highly urbanized nation. Encompassing the southern half of the Korean Peninsula, over 90% of the nation is currently urbanized.  This means life is concentrated in the cities, allowing you to experience an energetic, bustling atmosphere every day.

Despite the emphasis on city life, there are 12 World Heritage sites and 19 Cultural Heritages of Humanity that are available to explore in South Korea. This means there are temples and palaces to explore, sometimes just a short walk down from the hotel where you’re be staying.

There may be an emphasis on urbanization, but there are also plenty of destinations outside of the city to enjoy as well. Seorak-san National Park is absolute perfection in Autumn, with the colors dotting the mountains creating a unique and beautiful sight amongst the jagged summits. Jeju Island is another popular destination to add to the itinerary, with its lava tubes and tropical temperatures.

Organized groups are sometimes allowed to visit Mount Kumgang in North Korea as well when special permission can be obtained.

Whether you want to go sightseeing in Seoul or you want to experience the beaches and atmosphere of Busan, South Korea is a nation that combines an energetic culture with warm hospitality to create an experience that is fully unique. Whether you stroll the city streets to enjoy this energy or you take time to stretch out on a beautiful beach, you’ll discover that this country has much to offer every single day.
