The Republic of Korea, better known as South Korea, is a highly urbanized nation. Seorak-san National Park is absolute perfection in Autumn, with the colors dotting the mountains creating a unique and beautiful sight amongst the jagged summits. Jeju Island is another popular destination to add to the itinerary, with its lava tubes and tropical temperatures.

Organized groups are sometimes allowed to visit Mount Kumgang in North Korea as well when special permission can be obtained.
