A town that offers a pleasing mix of old and new, as well as a noticeably relaxing atmosphere, Caboolture is popular with visitors from Queensland as well as the rest of Australia. What to see and do in Caboolture ?
If you like to enjoy spectacular views when you’re on holiday you have to include a visit to White Horse Mountain Lookout while you’re in Caboolture. The 123-metre high observation spot offers incredible panoramic vistas out to sea, giving you a unique sighting of Moreton Island in the process. On a clear day you can even see Brisbane to the south. It’s a steep walk to the top here, but if you can handle that your rewards will be incredible.
If you happen to be a music lover, the best time of the year to visit Caboolture is early May. The Urban Country Music Festival is held here every year, and it’s a hugely popular event lasting several days. As well as concerts, there are a number of activities for visitors of all ages, so you can bring the family and, if you wish, stay for the duration on the local campsites. The emphasis at the UCMF is always on having fun.
One of the more intriguing attractions in Caboolture is the Historic Village, a beautifully maintained collection of buildings and artefacts which is located on Beerburrum Road. This particular area of Queensland has a rich and fascinating heritage, and you can find out so much about it at this hugely impressive location. There are often re-enactments and lectures on offer, so get ready for a highly interesting day.
There are more beaches in the area than you could possibly visit during a seven-day holiday, so choosing just the one is a difficult process. Many visitors to Caboolture make tracks to the stunning Bribie Island, perhaps because part of it is well-developed and has plenty to see and do and the other part is uninhabited and solitary.
