Travel to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is one of the most unique places in the world to visit. There are 11 defined climate zones in the world today and this nation has 9 of them found somewhere within its borders.

It’s not quite Europe in its feel, but it isn’t quite Asia either. You’ll find banana trees within sight of mountain tundras as you get ready to spend some time at the beach, along with some additional incredible exploration opportunities during your stay.

History Seems To Be Around Every Corner

Azerbaijan is home to a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Old City of Baku. As one of the most populated places in the entire Middle East, this area is mentioned several times in ancient Roman and Greek literature. Some of the historical monuments within the country, such as the Maiden Tower, date back to the 12th century.

Mud Volcanoes Provide a Unique Experience

If the historical sites aren’t going to fill up your entire itinerary, then perhaps viewing the hundreds of mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan will. Almost half of the world’s mud volcanoes are found within the borders of this nation and eruptions happen almost every day. The ground rumbles, the mud has large bubbles form within it, and then an explosion of gas occurs. 23 of these volcanoes are part of the country’s national park system.

Don’t Miss the Flames of Baku

Alexandre Dumas might be famous for books like The Count of Monte Cristo, but his journals of a visit to Azerbaijan are also worth reading. Of note are the experiences he had in Boku with the flames that have given this area the nickname the “Land of Fire.” He wrote of mysterious flames that had an other-worldly quality over 150 years ago – and you can experience these flames for yourself today as well.

Azerbaijan offers visitors a modern experience that is still unique thanks to the influences of geology and its placement at the crossroads of the ancient Silk Road.

VR City tour in Baku

What to see in Baku, Azerbaijan ? VR guided tour. Azerbaijan’s capital is the architectural love child of Paris and Dubai albeit with plenty of Soviet genes floating half-hidden in the background.Few cities in the world are changing as quickly and nowhere else in Eurasia do East and West blend as seamlessly or as chaotically. At its heart, the Unesco-listed Old City (İçəri Şəhər) lies within an exotically crenelated arc of fortress wall. Around this are gracefully illuminated stone mansions and...
