Travel to Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is a nation that is filled with rich history to explore. From the evolving architectural influences to the hospitality of a town square, this landlocked nation might not offer some of the same resort opportunities as the rest of Europe, but it does offer something different and special. The high mountains provide incredible views, spa towns offer the chance to relax in a way you prefer, and there are numerous frescoes to see throughout the nation.

The Czech Republic has a reputation of never letting visitors go and the list of things not to miss during a visit is extensive. From the old town of Prague to the original pilsner beers of Plzen, you can visit beautiful museums in castles, corner galleries for local artists, and fascinating ossuaries that offer relic-based adornments that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Finish off a day by finding a hillside to watch the sun come down on the trademark red roofs of the villages in this nation and you’ll never want to leave.

If you read the average fairy tale, everyone winds up finding their happily ever after. Much of the countryside feels almost German at first glimpse, but if you step into the southern Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, you will quickly find yourself getting lost in medieval Europe. Want to get off the beaten path? Try a city like Moravia in the east.

No matter where you choose to visit in the Czech Republic, almost any site is available to reach during a day trip.

Visit Moravia

Situated in the east of the Czech Republic, magical Moravia is one of the country’s most fascinating regions. With turreted buildings, misty hills and a warm Czech welcome, Moravia holidays are the perfect place to uncover central Europe’s historical past. The imposing Blankso Caves in the Moravia Karst area make a great day trip, as does the 13th century gothic Porta Coeli Monastery. The city of Znojmo is another historical gem; with an extensive underground labyrinth and many traditional buildings. For outdoor lovers, the dramatic Moravia highlands offer some of the Czech Republic’s most beautiful scenery. Zdar Peaks, an ever popular destination with walkers, hikers and climbers, afford some of the region’s most spectacular views. Throughout the highlands, iconic and idyllic architecture can be viewed. Especially stunning is Zdar nad Sazavou, a Baroque pilgrimage church which is listed as a UNESCO World heritage site. Holidays to Moravia are also popular with sports fans. The Grand Prix of the Czech Republic is held in Moravia’s Brno circuit and attracts spectators and competitors from around the globe. Brno town has a long history of motor racing and is a popular sport among the town locals. Other popular events include the many traditional Moravia festivals. One of the most popular is Líšen, which celebrates local food, dance and music.
