Travel to Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein offers one of Europe’s most fascinating destination opportunities. Of course it’s a fun place to visit just because it’s one of the world’s smallest countries. There’s also a certain fairy tale aspect to the idea of the nation being one of the richest per capita in the world. With a relaxing atmosphere, great culinary opportunities, and nature seemingly everywhere you turn, if the Alps are calling you, then Liechtenstein is the place to be.
Tall Castles Shine Brightly
Liechtenstein is only a couple dozen kilometers in length and maybe a dozen kilometers in width, yet there are still a number of great opportunities to see something amazing. Numerous castles were built deep into the Alps and provide visitors with a stunning vista of the valley they protect below. Hiking trails are numerous and a good time can be had even if your preferred castle isn’t open to the public.
Museums and Banks Dominate
Thanks to local laws, Liechtenstein has numerous banks with an office within its borders. Although seeing a bank around every turn can become tiresome, seeing museums around every turn is quite exciting indeed. With an emphasis that charts the heritage of this small principality, contemporary art exhibits, and the stories of the families who helped the country to grow, there is always something new to know in Liechtenstein.
Have a Late Breakfast
Here’s the secret to enjoying Liechtenstein: let the morning begin to turn into the afternoon before you get moving. A late breakfast on a terrace overlooking the Alps is one of the best experiences this principality provides. From there, you can enjoy everything else or decide to take a bus trip into Switzerland to continue on with your adventure.
Liechtenstein might not always be a top travel destination, but it should be. With dramatic landscapes, clean and friendly towns, as well as a touch of history here and there, you’ll find that this small landlocked principality is a lot bigger than it first seems.
