The town is home to the largest shopping centre in the Pilbara, Centro Karratha, featuring supermarkets, department stores, clothing boutiques and eateries. Further afield, explore the port town of Dampier just 20km west of Karratha. Take a tour of the Pilbara Iron Port facility to learn about the crushing, stockpiling and loading processes. Alternatively, escape to one of 42 islands in the Dampier Archipelago to enjoy beautiful beaches, great fishing and snorkelling.
