Travel to Koh Phi Phi
The six islands that make up Koh Phi Phi are among the most breathtaking places in Thailand, if not the entire planet. Located in the Krabi province, this small archipelago is just under an hour from Phuket by speedboat and perfectly embodies the dream vision that people all over the world have of the country: gorgeous beaches, shimmering opal waters and lush interiors, all wrapped up in a cocooning tropical climate. Phi Phi Don is the largest of the islands and is where much of the international tourism is centred, although the second largest, Ko Phi Phi Lee, is also popular. Wherever you choose to stay, a Koh Phi Phi holiday is always a spectacular adventure.
Phi Phi Don is where the majority of accommodation in the archipelago is located. This largest island in the chain is said to be among the most beautiful anywhere in the entire world. There are dozens of hotels as well as resorts in the Phi Phi Don village area. More basic accommodation is found in the southerly Long Beach region, including resorts comprised of bungalows; but on the upside, it’s got a spectacular white-sand beach. Laem Tong Beach in the north of the island is more secluded, and there are ultra-luxurious resorts in Loh Bagao. Beach bungalows are also found at Phak Nam Beach on the eastern side perfect for a relaxing holiday in Koh Phi Phi.

Best of Koh Phi Phi
What to see and do in Koh Phi Phi ?
Setting foot onto the soft, white sands of this collection of islands, you’ll think you have died and gone to heaven. The spectacular rock formations jutting straight out of the sea add a slightly surreal and disconnected air to the place, ensuring that your Koh Phi Phi holidays stay in your memory for a whole lifetime.
Many of the resort areas and individual accommodation on the islands of Koh Phi Phi, including the main Koh Phi Phi Don, are well known for their location along the stunning white-stand beaches lapped by the warm turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand, which branches out to the South China Sea.
Forget about cars as a way of getting around the Koh Phi Phi archipelago – there aren’t any. A great way to see the islands in is to rent one of the many longtail boats for the day and go exploring, stopping off at secluded beaches along the way for your very own private dip in water. Visitors can also take tours around the interiors of these amazing islands.
Scuba diving is big on these islands, for the incredible array of life beneath the waves. There are a number of dive centres that organise tours, or give instruction to those who wish to learn this wonderful activity.
Take a tour boat to just off Long Beach on Phi Phi Don and watch big blacktip reef sharks, which are not known to be aggressive and are therefore pleasant to view. Monkey Beach on Phi Phi Don is the scene of another wildlife spectacle: hordes of manic monkeys emerge from the jungles to frolic on the beach. Visitors are advised to keep their distance, however, as these creatures can be aggressive and may not therefore be pleasant to view up close.
Bamboo Island in the north of Phi Phi is the location of a national park, and is a good way to spend an afternoon.
Due to its rugged hillside terrain, climbing and hiking are popular things to do on Phi Phi Don. Courses are available for beginner climbers, as well as the equipment needed to scale sheer cliff faces.
In this most relaxing of environments, yoga and massage are extremely popular, and try and make sure you do or have one, or both. You’ll end up so entirely blissed out that you’ll never want to leave.
When daylight fades, it’s party time on Phi Phi, and there’s a constellation of sparking beach bars and clubs to match those in the heavens. What better way to end the day in one of the world’s foremost paradises than to rock it right away.
