Discover Naples

Naples is the perfect destination for those looking for a weekend break or alternatively spend a week here and visit the ruins of Pompeii and the stunning Amalfi coast in one trip. Naples is a fantastic destination for lovers of lively culture; the Centro Storico – the city’s historic centre – is home to great sights including Museo Cappella Sansevero, Teatro di San Carlo, Museo del Tesoro di San Gennaro and the Gesu Nuovo church.

When most people think of Italian history, the first city that springs to mind is usually Rome, although with Naples having been founded by the ancient Greeks and thriving during the Middle Ages, it really does give the capital a run for its money in terms of historic sites and attractions. Also famed for being the birthplace of the pizza, you can expect to wander through the streets here enjoying the delicious smell of fresh pizza being made through the quaint pizzeria’s that are prevalent in the city.Visiting one of the city’s most authentic pizza spots, such as Pizzeria da Michele, is a must. It only makes so much each day so, when the pizza’s gone, it’s gone! Taste pizza like you’ve never tasted before here, not to mention the Neapolitan gelato too!

Naples is also the best base from which to explore the incredible Amalfi Coast; only an hour’s drive from the city, you can easily spend a week exploring the stunning coastal towns of Positano, Amalfi, Praiano and Ravello. Or take a day trip by boat across to Capri, which affords the most incredible views of the coast.
