The main attraction of Manaus is its proximity to the Amazon Rainforest. On your vacation, there are a number of ways to experience this natural wonder. You can take a ferry from the city down the Rio Negro to where it connects with the Rio Solimões at the “Meeting of Waters”. The two rivers flow side by side and from the ferry you can see the different colored waters flowing together into the Amazon River. For a fuller experience of the rainforest, you should take one of the many rainforest tours that start in Manaus. These trips can take from three days to two weeks, with the best views furthest from the city; so plan your vacation accordingly.
