How do you get the cheapest tickets to Panama City ?

Panama City is a thriving metropolis right on the Pacific edge of the Panama Canal. Vibrant cultural life and an incredibly productive commercial sector make Panama City one of the leading cities in the Americas. With a tropical climate, beautiful beaches, and tropical rainforests nearby, there are plenty of opportunities to get outside and explore picturesque vistas and magnificent landscapes. These are complimented by incredible arts, music, food, and more inside city limits.

Panama City, like any great urban center, has many distinct neighborhoods, each with its own attractions and atmosphere. The Casco Viejo, or Old Town, is located by the city center, and features incredible colonial architecture, along with a wide variety of lodging options. Punta Paitilla, a popular area, sits on a peninsula and features many recently built skyscrapers, restaurants, and more. Punta Pacifica, a nearby area, is even newer and has great shopping malls. No matter where you stay during your Panama City vacation, you’ll find the locals friendly and helpful.

Panama City was founded by the conquistador Pedro Avila in 1519. About two hundred years later, the pirate Henry Morgan burned the city to the ground, and it was only re-founded in a nearby location. However, the original site still remains, in ruins, as Panama Viejo. It’s a stunning site, with a well-deserved place on the World Heritage list; visual remnants of its past include stone towers, walls, and other stunning artifacts.

Panama Viejo shares its World Heritage listing with Casco Viejo, the current old town. Walk through the streets and you’ll see stunning examples of colonial architecture, ranging from Caribbean to Republican in design. Monuments and plazas fill Casco Viejo, along with amazing churches.

The Amador Causeway is a great place to spend an afternoon. A massive causeway that stretches over a mile and a half into the Pacific, it’s a great spot to bike with views of ocean and city. Many rental shops operate year-round, along with restaurants, cafes, and even museums. Whether you’re on your own or with family, the causeway will provide hours of enjoyment.

If you’re taking a Panama City vacation, you can’t leave without visiting the Panama Canal. This incredible engineering feat is one of the busiest waterways in the world. You can watch giant ships go by, transferred up each level in the Miraflores Locks. The canal has its own museum, restaurants, and more, and you can also go on a boat ride through if you so choose.

Panama City is surrounded by incredible natural beauty, so there are plenty of opportunities to explore. Nearby, Barro Colorado Island is a popular destination. Located in the Panama Canal, this island is set aside as a nature reserve, housing the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and beautiful rainforests. Reserve with the institute for guided hikes and enjoy.
