North west of Dubrovnik is the island of Sipan. As mentioned, Sipan is the largest of Elafiti Islands, but having said that, there’s a limit to how lively an island with only 450 people can be! There are two main villages on the island, these are connected by one long road, but the island is small enough so that you don’t spend too much time travelling. The stunning scenery was once home to a hefty deer population which is where Elafiti got its name from, and this means your swift journey between the villages will at least be an eye-catching and pretty one.

What to see and do in Sipan ?

Start the day with some activities, and in the evening, go out for some great food. The city has a range of restaurants that offer all kinds of local and international food. There are several churches on the island to peruse during your holidays in the Island of Sipan, including those of St Peter’s Church and the Church of the Holy Spirit, but the prominence of these two buildings is enhanced by the fortress like foundations surrounding the edge of the edifices facing out to sea, these having been put in place to defend against pirates in the 16th-century.

Take a trip to Dubrovnik, There are also a number of boat connections from the island which means you will be able to head to Dubrovnik to enjoy the numerous bars and vibrant nightlife that populate the region. The Ice Bar is particularly interesting, while a few wine bars will warm you up if you don’t fancy facing the cold.
