Good news for GoT fans

The television show has been a boon to locales where it was filmed, including Iceland, Northern Ireland, Spain and Croatia. And fans now have yet another way to get their GoT fix at a new museum that opened recently in Split, Croatia.

A new themed museum opened up in Split a week ago.

“The museum tries to transport you into an eerie realm of the medieval times which inspired the fantasy show,” Luka Galić, the museum owner, told Lonely Planet.

The museum is located in the centre of Split near Diocletian’s cellars where Daenerys kept her dragons chained.

In the 300 m2 museum you can check out over 100 exhibits. The exhibits range from helmets, to swords, skulls, costumes, city models, set items and the full armour of the King’s Guards.

Drogon’s jaws greet visitors into the museum, which includes swords of Valerian steel and a number of life-sized character statues, from Jon Snow to Hodor. 

The permanent exhibition is composed of five themed rooms, starting at the Split-inspired Meereen, the Dubrovnik-themed King’s Landing, Winterfell and Weirwood tree, where guests enter through a hole in the tree.

Expert story tellers are available to also guide visitors around the museum. The museum is located at Bosanska ulica 9, close to the Diocletian’s cellars where Daenerys kept her dragons chained

The museum is open daily between 9 am and 10 pm.
