During the Day of Ashura, all trading stops in the market for 10 days to allow for religious ceremonies to take place.

When visiting the bazaar, be sure to reserve some time to see the Jome’ Mosque too. It offers an extensive courtyard to explore and its tall spires are inspiring. Visit the Blue Mosque as well, which was initially constructed in the 15th century. An 18th century earthquake damaged the grounds, so only the entrance hall remains.

There are also more than 130 parks to explore in the city. Try the Eynali artificial forest, which is just north of the city, for a unique experience. Tabriz offers magnificence to the traveler in many different ways. Find your path through the city to see how it might change you.
