Where is Georgia in USA

Georgia is in the Southeastern USA. Georgia is bordered to the north by Tennessee and North Carolina, to the northeast by South Carolina, to the southeast by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by Florida, and to the west by Alabama. The state’s northernmost part is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachian Mountains system.

Georgia is a good choice

Atlanta is the capital city of Georgia and the most populous destination anywhere in the state. It makes sense to begin your Georgia holidays here. You’ll be able to enjoy a wide range of cultural attractions from traditional colonial architecture to a wealth of museums, theatres and art galleries. The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site includes the inspiring man’s birthplace and final resting place, as well as a museum dedicated to his memory. While the Atlanta Ballet, the oldest dance company in America, perform at the historic Fox Theatre regularly – so grab some tickets!

The city also boasts a good selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The latter are particularly intriguing, with many unique attractions and designs attributed to the Atlanta nightlife. This is especially true around the Little Five Points neighbourhood, while Buckhead provides the most popular and diverse area for a night of dancing and drinking.

There are some beautiful national parks, scenic trails and coastal islands for you to explore during your holidays in Georgia. The most famous of which is the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains.

The range can be found in the north of the state. These dramatic outcrops are part of the larger Appalachian Mountain and offer the perfect terrain for hiking, horse riding or rock climbing. The highest peak is at Brasstown Bald, reaching a height of 4,784 feet above sea level. Between June and November is the best time to pay a visit to the mountains. You’ll experience warmer days with much less rain, providing great hiking weather and fantastic views.

There are many other natural sights worth visiting, including the magnificent Stone Mountain. The largest exposed granite dome in America features an impressive sculpture of Civil War heroes. Meanwhile, a trip to Dawsonville will allow you to visit the cascading Amacalola Falls.

Heading to Coastal Georgia will expose you to some spectacular offshore islands. Including Saint Simons Island, Jekyll Island and Cumberland Island, they all offer some fantastic outdoor pursuits such as fishing, sea kayaking and windsurfing.

Paying a visit to some of Georgia’s other cities will allow you to develop a more rounded conclusion of this state. Athens is home to the University of Georgia, contributing to the city’s fantastic drinking scene and culinary tradition. Augusta is home to the famous Augusta National Golf Club as well as many interesting museums, pretty churches and a picturesque riverfront.

Georgia holidays during March and April will give you the opportunity to visit the pretty city of Macon, home to the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. The beautiful event welcomes the blossoming of pink and white flowers, as well as hosting various other exhibits, concerts and markets.

If you fancy a bit of family-friendly entertainment, take a trip to the city of Valdosta to visit the famous Wild Adventures theme park and zoo. The park is full of crazy rollercoasters, water slides and exotic animals, providing a fantastic day of fun for the entire family.
