Italy, Campania from above

A Campania vacation will leave you with memories that will last for a lifetime. There’s no other trip where you can explore stunning underwater grottos, relax on one of the most stunning coastlines in the world, or walk through a city that was frozen in time nearly two thousand years ago. The food and drink alone are enough to leave a lasting impression of the region: limoncello, buffalo mozzarella, and even pizza itself are all Campania creations. So whether you spend your trip sunbathing on the Amalfi Coast, eating your way through Naples, or exploring the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius, you are guaranteed to remember your Campania vacation.

One of the best things about a Campania vacation is the amazing variety of different places to stay. Naples offers all the culture and vibrancy of a big city combined with all the charm of Southern Italy. The Amalfi Coast has some of the best beaches in Europe, as well as some of the best resorts. The Isle of Capri has been a top Italian vacation destination since Emperor Tiberius first built his villa there in 27 AD, and the island has lost none of its beauty or allure in the nearly two thousand years since.

You’ll be able to walk through the amazingly well-preserved remains of over two millennia of history on your Campania vacation. The ancient temples and painted tombs the Greeks left behind in Paestum look as though they might be modern reconstructions, although they actually have been around for a good 2,600 years. To truly get a taste of what life was like in the ancient world, visit the archaeological sites at Pompeii and Herculaneum. These doomed cities have been forever frozen in time, and as you walk through the streets that were bustling with activity two-thousand years ago you’ll see surprisingly human remnants of Ancient Rome, including graffiti on the walls and carbonized food that was laid out but never eaten. To escape from the doom and gloom, you can enjoy a famous Neapolitan pizza out in the sunshine, although always in the shadow of Mt Vesuvius.

Past and present combine in the city of Naples itself. The vibrant capital of the region is famous the world over for its wonderful music, warm, outgoing citizens, and incredible cuisine. If you want to learn about the past while enjoying the sun and sand, visit beautiful Capri. This amazing island was a favorite haunt of the Emperor Tiberius, who loved it so much he built a series of villas there which you can still visit today.

You’ll bump into traces of the most famous figures in history as you travel up and down the gorgeous Amalfi Coast, and by the time you finish your knowledge of the past will be almost as impressive as your tan.

Whether you want a romantic Italian escape or to relax in the comfort of the coast, a vacation to the Campania region is always a good idea.
